Property Settlement Mediation
Using mediation to work out your property split? Once you've reached an agreement, we'll help you turn it into a proper, formal settlement, reviewed by a family lawyer.
What is property settlement mediation?
Mediation, sometimes called family dispute resolution, is a process where an independent, trained mediator helps you and your ex-partner work through a property split together, without going to court to have it decided for you. It's a common path for couples who want to sort things out calmly, rather than through a drawn-out legal fight.
We don't provide mediation ourselves - our focus is on what comes after it, once you've reached an agreement you're both happy with.
Mediation before consent orders
Many couples use mediation to reach an agreement, then come to us to have that agreement properly prepared and formalised - often through consent orders, which turn a private agreement into an enforceable court order. See our full property settlement page for how the paperwork side works once your agreement is in place, including how superannuation is handled on our super splitting page.
